Same product, same durability, new colour

MEYLE has made it its goal to constantly improve processes and procedures. For this reason, we will further optimise the coating processes of various products in the chassis and steering area from our factories.

In order to use fewer resources such as paint and water across the entire production process, thus making a contribution to environmental sustainability, we have now decided to switch to the cathodic dip painting (CDP) process. Our MEYLE stabilizer links, which were previously galvanised in silver, are the first product group to be converted to cathodic dip painting, which has the side effect of giving them a black colour whilst retaining the same item numbers. The first stabilizer links with new paint are expected to be delivered from Q2/2021 onwards. We also plan to use the new, more environmentally friendly coating for other parts in the chassis/steering category.

In order to make it as easy as possible for you, the intermediate trade as well as the workshop to change from silver to black products, we support you with various measures:

All item numbers remain the same to minimise the effort in catalogue maintenance.
From the change onwards, all products receive an additional black sticker on the packaging label – easily recognisable for intermediaries on the shelves.
All products also receive a seal on the packaging with further information so that the colour change can be pointed out when the goods are unpacked and handed over to the customer.
For the data distribution and the catalogues, we will point out in the illustration and with an additional text module that stabilizer links might either still be black or silver during the transition phase.
