At the Automechanika 2012 Wulf Gaertner Autoparts AG will be presenting hands-on solutions to show how the independent aftermarket can win and retain new customers with top-quality repairs, with a wide range of products and services at this year's Automechanika Wulf Gaertner Autoparts AG will be focussing on the MEYLE and MEYLE-HD brand high-quality spares. All innovations are the result of years of dedication by our Hamburg-based development engineers. Our goal is to make workshop operations easier.

Wulf Gaertner Autoparts develops and manufacture high-grade spares in OE quality under the MEYLE and MEYLE-HD brands. With a range of approximately 17,000 articles for around 1.2 million applications, we have a solution for virtually all standard repair scenarios. The Hamburg-based manufacturer seeks to simplify workshop operations and improve their customer satisfaction through high-quality repairs. It has achieved this target by refining over 650 parts for thousands of different vehicle applications under the MEYLE-HD brand, making them more reliable and durable than the original part.

Information as well as product quality

In a fascinating Augmented Reality Demonstration visitors to our exhibition area can see for themselves how our Hamburg engineers identify and realise enhancement potential. Animated film material shows the loads to which individual components are exposed. Watch a simplified McPherson axle in a moving VW Golf V and experience how the forces acting on the bushing vary according to road conditions and speed. The Finite Elements Presentation shows the impact of different forces both on the enhanced MEYLE-HD bushing and on the original bushing, with additional colour highlighting for greater clarity. This demonstrates how improvements to detail make the MEYLE-HD brand more durable.

Digital HD catalogue for iPad

At this year's Automechanika Wulf Gaertner Autoparts AG will be presenting its HD catalogue as an iPad app. Workshop staff will now have fast and easy access to information on the 650 MEYLE-HD parts. Compact and easy to handle, all the data is now accessible immediately and at any time. The clearly structured navigation functions mean you can find the data you need fast by simply entering manufacturer / vehicle model. Many HD parts can even be viewed in 3D-mode.

Product range expansion: New MEYLE Asia Line

Wulf Gaertner Autoparts is now offering a range of high-quality spares for Asian vehicle models. Workshops can now handle even more repairs with MEYLE quality parts. A special feature in

Frankfurt will be a MEYLE-HD control arm for the Honda Civic VIII. This HD control arm from the new MEYLE Asia Line has been so enhanced that it is now more durable than its OE counterpart owing to its optimised rubber bushing and a ball joint with a wider diameter. As with all HD parts Wulf Gaertner Autoparts gives a four-year warranty on the new HD control arm. In Frankfurt we will be presenting the steering & suspension, filters and brakes products groups of the MEYLE Asia Line. More product groups are scheduled to follow so it will soon be possible to handle virtually any repair scenario for Asian models on the road in Europe using MEYLE components.

Thinking ahead for the workshop

The newly developed MEYLE-HD control arm for the new 5, 6 and 7 BMW models show how Wulf Gaertner Autoparts engineers think ahead to design spares for workshop convenience. The continuously variable guiding suspension ball joint makes it possible to adjust the steering accurately using the new BMW HD control arm. Without even having to take the initial measurements which are needed with the OE part. Not only does this simplify the repair, but the HD control arm can be used as a replacement for three different OE components. So workshops can respond to rising demand for these parts simply and flexibly, and only have to keep one article in stock. Just another service to the mechanics. Not only have we designed the ball joint so that it can be replaced separately. The reinforced bushings can also be replaced individually.

The first HD part designed to withstand loads in trucks

Wulf Gaertner Autoparts is now applying its technological expertise to MEYLE-HD components for Commercial vehicles. Heavy freightloads and poor road conditions are a growing source of problems with steering and suspension components. At the Automechanika 2012 Wulf Gaertner Autoparts will therefore be presenting its first HD part for trucks. To help workshops to keep trucks on the road for longer the Hamburg engineers have developed tie rod ends as a MEYLE-HD part for DAF, Iveco, MAN, Mercedes Benz, R.V.I. and Scania trucks. The principal improvement involved increasing the ball head diameter from the 40 mm to 45 mm. Enlarging the contact area increases the bearing capacity by 25 percent. The enchanced component also incorporates a wear-resistant plastic socket designed to withstand high loads and temperatures. The different materials are carefully matched to make them almost completely resistant to wear.
