MEYLE's social commitment

MEYLE has been committed to social causes for many years. Company founder Wulf Gaertner visited and supported the SOS Children's Village in Guatemala during a trip to Central America in 1995. Since then, numerous different support cooperations have been established.

At MEYLE, responsibility is more than just a word - it's what drives us. We support social projects and development partnerships worldwide with a focus on education, equal opportunities and environmental protection.

By working closely with charitable organizations, we ensure that our help goes where it has the greatest impact. Whether financial resources or targeted project partnerships - our aim is to open up new perspectives for people and create sustainable change. For us, responsibility means making an active contribution and shaping a better future together.

The Hamburger Anker theme fund helps families in difficulty by combating isolation, identifying problems and offering social support. The focus is on fostering loving bonds and improving parental care. The involvement of trained volunteers to integrate into the community is of great importance.

MEYLE supports SOS Children's Villages in various programs. These include the SOS Children's Village in Guatemala, automotive training programmes in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, digitization projects to promote education and employment opportunities in India and the commitment of young people to environmental protection.

The Förderverein Kinderklinik Beira e.V. supports the children's clinic in Beira, Mozambique, by providing medical equipment, medicines and training for medical staff.

Heim-statt-Tschernobyl e.V. is a non-profit organization that focuses on providing humanitarian aid and support to the victims of the Chernobyl disaster.

The non-profit outpatient children's hospice service Hamburg Familienhafen supports children with life-shortening illnesses and their families by providing outpatient care and support.

Löwenzahn Hochtaunus gGmbH supports sick and elderly people and their relatives with coordinated palliative and care services so that they can live as independently and with dignity as possible in their familiar surroundings.

Educational projects

At MEYLE, we believe that education is the key to personal and social progress. It opens up opportunities, overcomes boundaries and creates prospects for a better future.

That is why we focus on medium to long-term education and infrastructure projects that have a lasting impact. A particular focus is on vocational training programs that make it easier for young people to enter working life and give them the opportunity to lead a self-determined and independent life.

For us, education means investing in people - in their talents, their future and thus in a fairer society.

In the vegetable field demos, children learn where the food on our plates comes from - on the school's own farmland, together with their teachers. They take joint responsibility for their field and understand the impact of their actions. The aim: to inspire a young generation for nature and sustainability!

MEYLE supports the Wilma von den Wilden Weiden project of the Natur im Norden foundation. The project encourages children's curiosity and understanding of nature: Through playful discovery and exploration, they learn about the local flora and fauna - and become little naturalists.

We are committed to promoting life-saving first aid skills in society by providing in-house lay resuscitation training for employees and supporting free heart rescuer training courses at Hamburg schools.

Environmental projects

Supporting environmental projects is particularly important to us. The protection of natural resources, the reduction of emissions and the responsible use of energy are at the heart of our commitment. Through targeted investments in sustainable environmental initiatives, we actively contribute to tackling ecological challenges such as climate change, environmental pollution and species loss.

AfB gGmbH is a non-profit organization that specializes in collecting used IT hardware from companies and public institutions, deleting it in a data-secure manner, refurbishing it and selling or donating it. MEYLE donates its discarded laptops to this organization.

MEYLE supports the "Unternehmen Wald" foundation - a charitable foundation that promotes nature conservation, environmental education and sustainable forest management. This has enabled thousands of new trees and shrubs to be planted.

The promotion of honey bees is an important concern for MEYLE, as bees are essential for the pollination of plants and thus for the preservation of biodiversity and the ecological balance. MEYLE therefore houses bee colonies from the Lasbek apiary on its company premises and makes the honey available to its employees.

The thematic fund "Experience - Understand - Protect Nature" aims to motivate practical commitment to nature conservation and environmental protection through experiencing nature and is supplemented by the "Education for Sustainable Development" approach

Emergency aid

MEYLE supports aid programs worldwide in crisis and disaster situations to help people on the ground quickly and effectively. Our financial support enables vital measures such as the provision of food, clean water and medical care.

Shaping the future - Together for a sustainable world

We hope to be able to expand our funding efforts even further in the coming years in order to make our additional contribution to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals and thus give those in need long-term prospects for the future while protecting the environment.
