MEYLE put through its paces in truck racing
Powerful vehicles, strong engines and tons of passion – MEYLE supports the SL TruckSport 30 racing team as a technical collaborative partner with high-quality MEYLE parts and engineering expertise, with the aim of accompanying drivers and the team on their path to the podium. Parts provided by the Hamburg-based manufacturer have been installed in racing trucks since 2014. In addition to the technical equipment of the more than 1,000 hp racing truck with high-quality MEYLE parts, MEYLE engineers will be available as technical partners on the race weekends and in the workshops.
And the MEYLE product portfolio is also growing as a result: findings from everyday racing and the stress test are used to develop new parts and optimise existing ones in the truck range.
ETRC Digital Racing Challenge started
MEYLE partner Sascha Lenz on the digital podium
With real life racing on hold at the moment, racing truck drivers did now get the opportunity to compete against each other in the virtual world: The European Truck Racing Association has launched an online-based racing series as part of its digital strategy. Anyone who is keen on truck racing and would like to see how those heavyweights move quickly and powerfully on the digital race track can now enjoy the excitement from the comfort of their own home.
The digital racing challenge is organised on the “Assetto Corsa” gaming platform. However, the challenge is only open to full-season-entrants of the FIA ETRC. The virtual truck racing season will feature 8 events, with the virtual trucks all having their actual 2020 team livery.
Each round consists of two races. The virtual truck racing season started at the Hungaroring on May 24th. That first day of digital racing challenge, truck driver Sascha Lenz and his partner MEYLE had every reason to celebrate: the German truck driver finished second and third! Round 2 of the ETRC Digital Racing Challenge will take place on June 7th in digital Misano and will be broadcast live globally across ETRC’s social media platforms including on the official YouTube channel, Facebook page, Twitch and the official website.
