Interview Peter Richter, H&R Autoservice

Hello Peter, tell us a little bit about you and your job!

My name is Peter Richter, I am 40 years old and I am a motor vehicle technician master at H&R Autoservice in Trittau.

How long have you been screwing on vehicles and how did you started?

At the age of three I already took apart toy cars and put them back together again. The older I got, the bigger the cars got – So as 14-year-old, I started working on real cars.

How long have you been working with MEYLE parts?

For quite a while now! 20 years ago, I got to know the MEYLE parts and started to work with them. Since then, they have proven themselves very well and have never let me down.

What does a typical working day look like for you?

At 8 a.m. we start our day in the workshop. The working day begins with a short meeting with my business partner and the entire workshop team. Then, the daily business follows up until about 8 p.m.: authentic customer contact, paperwork, workshop management and finally screwing and maintaining. A real balancing act – but with our great team this is no problem at all.

What is particularly important to you – regarding spare parts – in your everyday work life?

When it comes to parts, very good quality is important to me – this is how we ensure that we can serve our customers with good parts and solutions and that they can stay on the road for a long time. That's why it's also very important for me to get good customer feedback.

What is your favorite MEYLE part? 

The MEYLE-HD ball joints. I have already installed them into my family’s motorhome together with my employee. Since then, I have been travelling very comfortably and safely throughout Europe with my family.

Is there a special story about MEYLE parts that you would like to share with us?

I feel very attached to the company because it is a family business and I can feel that every MEYLE employee enjoys working there and is representing the company. That's something I've also built up in my company and want to feel when I go to work.

How did you hear about the photo shooting and why did you participate?

I was asked by a MEYLE sales representative whether I would like to participate and was very pleased with the offer.

Our slogan is "DRIVER'S BEST FRIEND". Are you also the best friend of your customers? If so, why?

Yes, I am DRIVER’S BEST FRIEND. Because I take every person as he or she is – and I mean it as said.   

What do you do when you're not in the workshop?

In my free time I enjoy riding motorcycles or bicycles and enjoy the time with my wife and children as much as possible.
