Newly available: MEYLE-HD rear axle bushings for the Nissan X-Trail

Hamburg, 23. July 2013. Hamburg-based manufacturer Wulf Gaertner Autoparts AG continues to develop its MEYLE Asia Line. With the rear axle bushing specially developed to fit Nissan X-Trail models the company presents a brand new MEYLE-HD part for a Japanese application. And the part is destined to become a genuine workshop highlight. Thanks to a new composition of materials making up the bushing's inner sleeve and its re-engineered rubber design the MEYLE part lasts considerably longer than its OE equivalent. The added extra: the MEYLE-HD rear axle bushing can be replaced individually thereby eliminating the need for entire axle mount replacement when only the bushing is defective. The solution helps minimise repair time and costs significantly. Wulf Gaertner Autoparts AG gives a four-year warranty on the new HD part.

Owing to the SUV's high vehicle weight, the four rear axle bushings on the Nissan X-Trail (T30) are subjected to high mechanical stresses whenever the car is in operation. The forces acting on the axles multiply when driving on bad roads, hitting potholes or driving off-road.

The rubber used for the bushing is the weakest element in the subframe. As the rubber material is worn away, the part's overall rigidity deteriorates dramatically causing the inner sleeve to tear out and become loose resulting in poor rear axle guidance. The vehicle feels unresponsive and the risk of rear-wheel skidding increases.

Massive feedback from repair professionals has shown that the

bushings are likely to be the first components to fail under stress. This is why Wulf Gaertner Autoparts AG's engineers have re-designed the bushing of the rear axle subframe on the Nissan X-Trail (T30) for models manufactured between 2001 and 2007.

Up until now, replacing a defective bushing has also meant replacing the complete rear axle subframe even if it was still in good working order. Talk about costly! Thanks to the new design, the worn bushing can be pressed out and individually replaced with a new MEYLE-HD bushing – a solution involving only a fraction of the original costs.

While developing the new MEYLE-HD part for the MEYLE Asia line, Wulf Gaertner Autoparts AG's engineers have devised a full-rubber bushing with a specially profiled inner sleeve to ensure firm rubber-to-metal bonding at all times. This improves the component's stability and durability, allowing the manufacturer to offer a four-year warranty.

The new MEYLE-HD rear axle bushing for the Nissan X-Trail is the latest addition to the MEYLE range of individual parts which are not separately available as OEM parts. This enables independent workshops to offer their customers cost-effective repairs in line with work time allowances and build stronger customer relations by providing all-round repair services.

The MEYLE-HD bushing is available separately (MEYLE ref. 36-14 710 0000/HD) or as a kit including all four bushings (MEYLE ref. 36-14 710 0001/HD).
