Added-value MEYLE repair kits for time-effective cardan shaft repair yield cost savings of up to 70%

Hamburg, 23. September 2015. Replacing the centre shaft bearing without changing the entire cardan shaft assembly? That this is not a necessarily a contradiction in terms is demonstrated in the latest "MEYLE Mechanics" video now published on the company's "MEYLE TV" YouTube channel. In 2014, Wulf Gaertner Autoparts AG launched a full-service cardan shaft centre bearing kit for the Porsche Cayenne and VW Touareg cardan shaft repair, thus enabling workshops to repair a faulty centre bearing swiftly without having to replace the complete cardan shaft, as is required for the original design. Now, yet another full-service kit is making its market debut: Supplied with all parts required for the cardan shaft centre bearing repair the kit also includes all components for the flex disc change.

In the event of a cardan shaft centre bearing failure on a Porsche Cayenne or VW Touareg, there used to be only one remedy: Changing the complete cardan shaft assembly. In 2014, Hamburg manufacturer Wulf Gaertner Autoparts was one of the first aftermarket vendors to supply an alternative cost-efficient solution by offering cardan shaft centre bearing sets which can be replaced separately. With all the necessary components coming in a single set (including the bearing, clamp ring, rubber boot and grease) repair professionals no longer have to re-install used components such as the rubber boot. The recently launched value-added kit also includes the flex disc complete with all screws required for replacement. Dispensing with time-intensive cardan shaft assembly replacement, the new centre shaft bearing yields cost savings of up to 70 per cent.
